Unified Communication, or UC, is the integration of multiple platforms of communication, including instant messaging, voice, video, and other types, into one interface. The purpose of Unified Communication is to increase efficiency in business operations and for the user. UC allows a user to send messages on multiple channels through one simple interface. So instead of having to login to multiple social media accounts, for example, a customer care agent can use one platform to send messages and communicate with customers through a variety of channels.
